THE SOBER SOUR

A plethora of taste sensations!

Serves 1

INGREDIENTS:

2 fluid oz freshly-squeezed grapefruit juice

1 fluid oz freshly-squeezed lemon juice

Ginger-thyme infused simple syrup to taste*

1 egg white

GARNISH:

1 thyme sprig or flower of choice 

METHOD:

In a dry cocktail shaker (no ice), pour in grapefruit juice, lemon juice, *ginger-thyme infused simple syrup and egg white and dry shake for 2-3 minutes.  Add ice into shaker and shake for another 2-3 minutes.  Strain into a chilled cocktail glass of choice.  Taste and adjust sweetness if needed.  Top off with mineral water if desired and garnish with a thyme sprig or flower of choice.  FYI: I prefer mine served up in a cocktail glass without mineral water.

*Ginger-thyme infused simple syrup:  In a small saucepan, bring 1 cup of water, 2 thin slices of fresh ginger and 2 sprigs of fresh thyme to a boil.  Lower heat and simmer for 2 minutes.  Remove from heat, let cool, strain and add 1 Tbsp of liquid monk fruit sweetener to recipe and stir.
