GUT HEALTH TESTING
GI MAP TEST
It’s often said that everything begins and ends in the gut and we are only as healthy as our gut microbiome. I couldn’t agree more. This test is the best tool I know for assessing your gut health, and adding it to my functional medicine toolbox has elevated my practice. It’s helped my clients improve not just their digestion, but their overall wellness.
Your gut is your most important internal organ because it literally impacts every other system in your body. A healthy gut influences digestion, immunity, mental health, sleep, skin health, body weight and even hormone balance. In short, a healthy gut truly equals a healthy you!
Signs that your gut microbiome may be out of balance:
- Digestive issues (bloating, gas, constipation, or diarrhea)
- Food sensitivities or allergies
- Fatigue or low energy
- Frequent illness
- Disturbed sleep
- Hormonal imbalances
- Mood swings, anxiety, or depression
- Skin issues such as acne, rosacea, eczema or psoriasis
- Autoimmune disorders
- Sugar cravings
As you can, gut health affects your whole body. Assessing GI health with the right tools can help uncover the root causes of stubborn weight or wellness challenges, giving you a clear path to lasting health.
The GI Map Test uses a simple, at-home 1-day stool sample (I know – yuck!). A test kit is drop shipped to you directly with a prepaid mailer to ship back to the lab. Results generally take 2 weeks.
The IgG Food Explorer Test
If you truly want a customized plan and optimal results, this test is essential. I’ve been using food sensitivity testing in my practice for over 25 years and the results have been nothing short of transformative. Food sensitivities are often a root cause of stubborn weight, even when you’re eating well and exercising consistently.
The IgG Food Explorer Test is an Elisa-based multiplex food sensitivity (intolerance) test that measures total IgG antibodies to over 250 foods. It’s simple to collect at home, your results help personalize your diet and lifestyle recommendations – while reducing or eliminating symptoms related to adverse food reactions.
Unlike food allergies, which trigger immediate reactions, food intolerances are delayed. They’re much more common and can show up as digestive disorders, migraines, obesity, or difficulty losing weight, chronic fatigue, joint aches, skin issues, and even behavioral changes. In fact, it’s estimated that 70-80% of the US population has some form of food intolerance. Unfortunately, these symptoms are often treated individually rather than addressing the root cause – so the problem persists.
The IgG Food Explorer Test requires a simple at home blood sample (finger prick). A test kit is drop shipped to you directly with a prepaid mailer to ship back to the lab. Results generally take 2 weeks.
HORMONE TESTING
THE DUTCH TEST
Many of my clients struggle with hormone imbalances – whether it’s menopause, weight challenges, fatigue, low libido, PMS, mood swings, anxiety or depression. Left unaddressed, these symptoms can contribute to more serious health issues. The key to lasting change is identifying the root cause and that starts with the right testing.
The DUTCH Test provides a comprehensive assessment of sex and adrenal hormones, along with their metabolites, all in one simple, at-home test. There’s no blood draw, no complicated procedures – just a straightforward urine and saliva collection.
The DUTCH Test results give us a clear picture of your hormone levels, allowing me to create a personalized plan to rebalance and support your adrenal and sex hormones. With this insight, you can take the steps necessary to feel more energetic, balanced, and in control of your wellness.
ROOT CAUSE-BASED BLOOD CHEMISTRIES
A Comprehensive blood chemistry provides a wealth of information about your health, including early signals of disease or imbalances that may develop over time. The problem with routine blood tests, like those typically done at annual physicals, is that they often miss critical markers. In addition, lab ranges are generally way too wide, making almost any result appear “normal” – even when underlying issues are present. This is dangerous, because by the time a given marker shows up outside the range, the problem may already be advanced, past the preventative stage. Since the goal of nutrition is preventative, we take a different approach.
With a comprehensive blood chemistry, I can evaluate your nutritional and metabolic health and identify nutrients your body may be lacking. It also uncovers potential root causes behind weight loss challenges and other wellness concerns. This is the only test that I absolutely require you to do, as it allows me to individualize your dietary and supplement recommendations for the fastest, safest, and most sustainable results.
MY IDEAL BLOOD CHEMISTRY FOR THE MENOPAUSAL YEARS
A comprehensive blood chemistry is one of the most important tools in your wellness journey – especially during the menopausal years. It serves not only as a screening tool, but also as a roadmap to uncover root causes and prioritize what your body truly needs.
Your ideal blood chemistry goes beyond a routine blood test, including markers that are particularly important during menopause: blood sugar markers, heart health markers, a complete thyroid panel, and an advanced female hormone panel. Proper interpretation is key – it should be reviewed by a healthcare practitioner with a preventative holistic approach who can guide you in making lasting changes.
My Ideal Blood Chemistry For The Menopausal Years requires a blood draw. I can provide a suggested requisition form for your healthcare practitioner, or we can use your most recent lab results and fill in any gaps to get a complete picture of your health.
CELLULAR NUTRIENT ASSAYS
Many people are exceeding their calorie needs but still not meeting their requirements for essential vitamin and minerals. This results in wellness issues such as fatigue and low energy, metabolic issues, weight gain, hormone imbalances and blood sugar imbalances.
The Cellular Nutrient Assays test for nutrient sufficiency (vitamins, minerals and amino acids), antioxidant capacity and specific antioxidants that work best for your individual needs and wellness profile.
The Cellular Nutrient Assays uses a blood sample to assess your nutrient status. You can either go to a participating lab or use Cell Science System’s mobile blood draw service. A test kit is drop shipped to you directly with a prepaid mailer to ship back to lab.
