Pumpkin Pie Smoothie

INGREDIENTS

  • ½ cup canned organic pumpkin
  • ½ frozen banana
  • ½ cup almond or coconut milk
  • 1 scoop PurePaleo Vanilla Protein Powder (optional)
  • 1 scoop Whole Body Collagen (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon monk fruit powder or 1 packet stevia
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon chia seeds
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted almonds
  • Sprinkle of Cinnamon
  • Sprinkle of pumpkin pie spice
  • ½ cup of ice

METHOD

  1. Add all your ingredients to a blender and puree until blended.
  2. Pour and enjoy

This refreshing and delicious endocrine-enhancing smoothie is bursting with beneficial nutrients that will get your day started and keep you going until lunch!

INGREDIENTS:

1/2 cup pure water or organic green or white tea (cooled)

1/2 cup lite coconut milk

1 scoop pure whey protein or vegan protein powder (no soy, no sugar)

1 t Maca root* powder (gelatinized) 

1 T ground flax seeds

1/2 cup frozen raspberries

1/2 cup frozen banana chunks

1 small handful fresh mint

1 large handful fresh organic baby greens (spinach, kale, swiss chard, etc.)

Juice of 1/2 lime or lemon

1 pinch Himalayan sea salt (optional)

Ice (optional)

METHOD:

Add all ingredients (except protein powder) to blender and process until smooth.  Add protein powder and process briefly until combined with rest of ingredients.  Enjoy!  Makes 1 serving

This protein-packed smoothie is the perfect meal replacement or recovery meal after a workout.

 

 

 

 

INGREDIENTS:

1 1/2 – 2 scoops Whey Cool Protein Powder* (organic and from grass-fed cows)

1 tsp L-Glutamine powder* (for building and maintaining lean body mass)

1/2 cup lite coconut milk (sold in a small can at trader joe)

2-4 oz pure water

1 tsp organic extra virgin coconut oil

1 T chopped raw, unsalted nuts (almonds, walnuts, cashews, brazil, pecans, macadamias)

3” piece banana (barely ripe) – best if frozen

Sprinkle of cinnamon

1 pinch sea salt

Ice (if needed)

• 4 oz. pure water

• 4 oz. plain kefir

• 1/2 cup ice

• 1 scoop Whey Cool Protein Powder (plain or vanilla)

• 1 tsp. flax oil

• 1 tsp. chia seeds

• 1/2 cup fresh or frozen blueberries

• 1/2 banana

• 1 handful leafy greens (spinach, kale work best)

Method:

Add all ingredients to blender and blend for approximately 1 minute.

* for a chocolatey immune boost add 1 T raw cacao powder.

 

 

Johnny Boy’s Breakfast Smoothie

My brother Johnny lives in Santa Cruz, has been a vegetarian most of his life, surfs, plays the trombone and  is totally chill.  Its no wonder he looks younger then all of us!

The following is his famous Breakfast Smoothie recipe which was inspired by my Dad, the original “Smoothie King”. Bottoms up!

 

INGREDIENTS:

2-3 leaves Dino kale (stems removed)

2 leaves any chard-can add 1 leaf romaine lettuce also.

1 banana

1/2 cup each (approximately) frozen strawberries (Trader Joe’s organic), blueberries (Trader Joe’s organic), mangos (again…Trader Joe’s organic)

Around 2 tablespoons raw cocoa nibs

1 peeled orange (organic, if available)

1 tablespoon chia seeds

1 scoop Whey Cool Protein (chocolate or vanilla)

1 scoop EssentiaGreens

Around 2 cups liquid (I use either filtered water, or unsweetened tea (if I need an additional boost)

1 medjool date (optional)

METHOD:

Add all ingredients to a VitaMix or blender and blend for 1-2 minutes on high speed.  Makes 2 good-size servings.

 

Lahurd Family Greeeeeeeen Drink

The Green GoddessMy sister Jenny, her husband Jeff and their daughter Danielle claim this as their “family smoothie” It’s Surprisingly yummy – the avocado and chia seeds make this a filling and delicious start to your day.

INGREDIENTS:

1 cup alkaline water
1/2 cucumber- cut
1 cup kale
1 carrot – cut in 4 pieces
1/2 apple
1/4 avocado
1 stalk celery- cut in 4 pieces
2tbs. Chia seeds

METHOD:

Blend all in a blender or Vita Mix and enjoy!

Jacqui’s Summer Smoothie

 

Pina Colada Smoothie

 

What says Summer more than a Pina Colada!?  Only problem is they are about 644 calories – that’s 100 calories more than a Big Mac – ouch!  So if you want to spend more time in your bikini and less in your cover up, here is a recipe for a protein smoothie that tastes so much like the real thing you may want to serve it with a paper umbrella!

 

 

 

 

Ingredients:

2 0z. pure water

2 oz. pure pineapple juice

2 oz. lite coconut milk

1/2 cup frozen pineapple chunks

1/2 banana

1/2 T flax oil

1/2 cup ice

1 scoop Whey Cool Protein Powder (plain or vanilla)

Place 1st 7 ingredients in blender and blend for 1 minute.  Add protein powder and blend for another 30 seconds or so until creamy.  Alcohol optional : )

juice of 1/2 lime
