INGREDIENTS:

1 handful baby organic spinach

1 handful fresh mint leaves

Juice of 1/2 lemon

1″ of fresh ginger (sliced)

1 orange (peeled and sliced)

 

METHOD:

Put all ingredients in a high-powered blender and process until smooth.  Can be refrigerated for 1-2 days.

green drinksI don’t love eating salads – there – I said it!  Nope – the washing, chopping and ugh – all that chewing – who has the time!  So when I realized that I could get all the nutritional benefits and more in one little 8 oz green drink…. I said sign me up!  Drinking as opposed to eating your greens infuses your body with tons of vitamins and minerals in the most absorbable form – it’s like getting the nutrition in several huge salads at once!  So bottoms up my friends and btw Kermit – It IS easy being green : )

Autumn Detox Smoothie

4 -6 ozs. water

1/2 – 1 cup ice

1/2 cup unsweetened canned pumpkin

1/2 cup red grapes

1/2 medium apple

1/4 cup fresh or frozen cranberries

1/8 tsp. nutmeg

2 dates, pitted

1 scoop Whey Cool Protein Powder (vanilla or plain)

 

METHOD

Place all ingredients into the Vitamix container (or blender) in the order listed and secure lid.  Blend for approximately 1 minute.  Enjoy!

Lahurd Family Greeeeeeeen Drink

The Green GoddessMy sister Jenny, her husband Jeff and their daughter Danielle claim this as their “family smoothie” It’s Surprisingly yummy – the avocado and chia seeds make this a filling and delicious start to your day.

INGREDIENTS:

1 cup alkaline water
1/2 cucumber- cut
1 cup kale
1 carrot – cut in 4 pieces
1/2 apple
1/4 avocado
1 stalk celery- cut in 4 pieces
2tbs. Chia seeds

METHOD:

Blend all in a blender or Vita Mix and enjoy!

The Sassy Shamrock Detox Smoothie

This “morning after” smoothie is chock full of health promoting antioxidants and nutrients designed to hydrate and detoxify you after a night of shenanigans!

The Sassy Shamrock Detox Smoothie

Ingredients:

 6 oz. pure water

1/2 ripe avocado

1 fistful organic baby kale or spinach

1 fistful organic parsley

juice of 1/2 lime

1 tsp flax oil

pinch of cayenne pepper

ice if needed

Method:

Blend for 1-2 minutes, adding extra water if needed.  Bottoms up!
